Grand Opening of new Tails Humane Society facility in DeKalb, Illinois draws 1200 visitors and virtually empties the shelter!

Joe and Benji were in DeKalb Illinois to help celebrate the Grand Opening of the new Tails Humane Society. Friday night Joe gave an inspiring talk to a "Black Tie and Tails" group of donors and board members, and Benji and Joe were on hand at the Saturday Grand Opening, signing books and videos, taking pictures with vistors to the shelter, and placing famous paw prints into wet cement for the shelter's entrance. During the two-day festivities, all of the shelters dogs except one (and half the cats) were adopted into forever homes.

Carolyn Law, co-chair of the event and Public Relations Coordinator for Tails, in a recent letter to Joe, said, "Our sincerest thanks to you for making TAILS' Grand Opening celebration so truly special. From the keynote address at the formal dinner for major donors, through a full day of photos and book signings, your contribution to our once-in-a-lifetime event was both memorable and successful. I was honored to spend two exhaustingly intensive days with America's Top Dog and Joe Camp. Never have I had such an experience or been surrounded by so many smiling faces!"
