A Funeral for "I can't."

We would like this section to become a special resource for teachers (and parents) to find and exchange student programs and projects that have multiple benefits, that enrich kids' lives in more ways than perhaps the obvious. Like A Funeral for "I Can't. Another example: the initiation of a forensics program in one school, with tournament competition in humorous and dramatic readings, oratory, and debate, not only taught kids about spoken communication, but built self-esteem and sent confidences soaring. For many, grades in academic classes went up as they became more confident.

A school district in Orange County California motivated kids to want to understand the balances of chemistry and encouraged the concept of persistence (trial and error) by inviting them to compete in a goop-stretching tournament. The kids had to figure out which balances in the mix would provide the elasticity that would stretch the farthest. We also want special projects that kids can download or work on from school or home. All programs, projects, and articles published here, whether for other teachers or for kids, will be credited to you and your school, and will bring gifts of Benji videos and books for your classroom. Send material to projects@benji.com. Many thanks. We want Benji.com to become an important resource and archive to help you make a difference with the kids you teach and parent.
