Benji & Joe Camp spend May on the road helping to raise adoption levels and helping to inspire teachers and students

May 22, 2005 -- Benji’s creator, Joe Camp, and the floppy-eared star herself have spent much of the month of May on the road working to make a difference with animal shelters, teachers, and students. In early May, Benji and Joe were in Salt Lake City helping No More Homeless Pets in Utah with a major fundraiser and drawing crowds to their semi-annual Super Adoption event where over 250 homeless dogs and cats were adopted in only two days. In less than five years, Gregory Castle and his No More Homeless Pets team have turned Utah into the number one state in the nation for homeless pet adoptions.

The following weekend, Benji and Joe helped celebrate the grand opening of the TAILS Humane Society’s new facility in DeKalb, Illinois, where, during the two day ceremony, more homeless pets were adopted than during the entire month of May last year,

May 18th, our floppy-eared star and her boss appeared at the Five Acres School (in Altadena, CA) giving their large group of at-risk kids who have special education needs, most of whom have had to be taken from abusive and dysfunctional homes, an opportunity to meet and hug Benji and hear an inspiring message from Joe.

On May 14th, Benji was onstage at the Genesis Awards (Animal Planet) to accept the award for Best Family Film of the Year (Benji Off the Leash); and later this month Benji and Joe appear on Steve Dale’s nationally syndicated PetWorld.
